Objectives:

  1. Identify two potential reasons for excessive newborn weight loss and/or slow or not weight gain
  2. Identify two potential interventions to help ensure normal newborn weight gain
  3. Identify two potential resources/referral to help support feeding dyad

 

In support of improving patient care, Maine Medical Center (MMC) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. MMC can accredit continuing education activities with the following credit types: Inter-professional Continuing Education (IPCE), Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), and American Psychological Association (APA).   Maine Medical Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of  4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).
